An unexpectedly hard shot by Dabi Saens in the 11th minute of play forced Monte Hermoso Beach's goalkeeper Jonatan Enekoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Jerónimo Furtado put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonatan Enekoitz. After 15 played minutes Monte Hermoso Beach got a freekick which was hit by Teo Fernandes. It was beautiful to see União Sport Clube Paredes's Altino Palha in action when he in the 16th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Santana in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonatan Enekoitz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half União Sport Clube Paredes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerónimo Furtado made a kick off. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Montrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The corner led to Monte Hermoso Beach's Teo Remigio getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 62nd minute Mathis Arlot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
