An unexpectedly hard shot by 胡峰阳 in the 10th minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Dé Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes Canarinho Atordoado got a freekick which was hit by Fabián Nesta. In the 48thth minute of the game Tobiasz Rostow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canarinho Atordoado's Dé Mello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Peter Mpenza made the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Sílvio Ferraz in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Canarinho Atordoado's Stayko Gorbanov. Nicolae Ceaușescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Mpenza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute Canarinho Atordoado were awarded a corner. Peter Mpenza went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Canarinho Atordoado's Peter Mpenza to fire away a dangerous shot which Nicolae Ceaușescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Canarinho Atordoado's Dé Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobiasz Rostow in the 58th minute of play.
