Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benê Hoffmann in the 11th minute of play. Benedito Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Laurendi, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Ioan Voicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Éder Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Temperley's zone, Yu Yang Sang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ioan Voicu came out of the goal and Yu Yang Sang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu got control of the ball when Éder Madureira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sagarana Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Serafim Barros in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Lopez came free, but Benedito Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Joel Pitin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Éder Madureira got free with Ioan Voicu in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Correia in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yu Yang Sang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
