The coaching staff of Floripa Lions FSCMZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luciano Batista had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 29th match minute, Floripa Lions FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Batista to maneuver through the defense. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ioan Voicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jonas Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute Rolando Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atlético Temperley's Gaston Laurendi got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 minutes Floripa Lions FSCMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Pitin who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Marco Villerias almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Evaristo Siqueira did a great save. There was no doubt that Club Atlético Temperley were the better team. Club Atlético Temperley's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
