In the 18th match minute, Egg Chasers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Groom to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Egg Chasers FC's Jonny Wilkinson got a free kick in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Matthew Brookman came free, but Oskar Haeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egg Chasers FC's Fabien Barthez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Di Filippo in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Di Filippo, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 92 minutes into the match, Dave Di Filippo notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Egg Chasers FC's Fabien Barthez. Ronny Whieldon's late challenge caught a Hermanö Oilers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 97 minutes, Valentin Dusett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hermanö Oilers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Dusett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hermanö Oilers eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
