C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Pipon Pipon from getting a goal against them. The attack was good, but when Peter Crouch in the 10th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Groom in the 12th minute of play forced C. A. Pipon Pipon's goalkeeper Jannes Ruttens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesario Irazu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beto Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Damian Stonehouse made the kick off in the second half. When Jose José came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the C. A. Pipon Pipon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose José couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justus Lintorf got free with Fabien Barthez in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 55 minutes into the match, C. A. Pipon Pipon's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Stonehouse came free, but Jannes Ruttens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Egg Chasers FC booed when C. Pipon Pipon got a corner. Egg Chasers FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Al Whatley ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on C. A. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Nicky Bryson took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Fabien Barthez to make any attempt to save it. C. A. With his leg Fabien Barthez managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when C. A. Pipon Pipon's Malcolm McIntosh fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 93 played minutes C. A. Pipon Pipon got a freekick which was hit by Bülent Korkmaz. Jannes Ruttens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Stonehouse in the 96th minute of play. Egg Chasers FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though C. A. Pipon Pipon had controlled the match.
