Dave Di Filippo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabien Barthez came out and tried to block the shot, but Dave Di Filippo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 40th minute. The corner led Hermanö Oilers's Harel Minsky to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabien Barthez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dave Di Filippo to make the kick off. Bror Lilja struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. The audience was convinced that Dave Di Filippo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabien Barthez was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
