Anibal Cambiasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, BAIRES's Beat Leutwyler threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Andres Cambiasso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. BAIRES's Anibal Cambiasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 22nd minute of play. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anibal Cambiasso. Anibal Cambiasso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, B68 Toftir's goalkeeper Beat Leutwyler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquin Cambiasso. After 26 minutes, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. BAIRES's Anibal Cambiasso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the BAIRES defense, Maximino Goi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anibal Cambiasso. The BAIRES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anibal Cambiasso should have stopped the shot. Beat Leutwyler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres Cambiasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marciano Cambiasso in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beat Leutwyler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Timmie Nyemanting received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Anibal Cambiasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Marciano Cambiasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beat Leutwyler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, BAIRES's Andres Cambiasso got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lázaro Lizbeth was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, one of BAIRES:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for BAIRES. The audience was convinced that Marciano Cambiasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beat Leutwyler was relentless in the 55th minute of the game.
