If Richard Nixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, S.S.C. NAPOLI's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Lobo came free, but Achille Albanesi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute of the match, Fulvio Muzzolon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bruno Macario saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 25 minutes into the match, Fulvio Muzzolon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Macario. Berutti FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fulvio Muzzolon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Fulvio Muzzolon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Macario read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. S.S.C. NAPOLI were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Berutti FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fulvio Grande took the corner. 35 minutes into the match, Berutti FC's goalkeeper Bruno Macario had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fulvio Muzzolon. Angelino Castulo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Fulvio Muzzolon notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Berutti FC's Bruno Macario. Bruno Macario was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 43 minutes, Edelmiro Cheche mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berutti FC and the S.S.C. NAPOLI players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Berutti FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Cheche to maneuver through the defense. Sebastian Lobo kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Lobo made a kick off. Berutti FC's Bruno Macario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Nixon in the 58th minute of play. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Fulvio Muzzolon sped through Berutti FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bruno Macario. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fulvio Muzzolon in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Macario saved Berutti FC from getting behind. Edelmiro Cheche's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Achille Albanesi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Bruno Macario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Nixon in the 66th minute of play. The S.S.C. NAPOLI fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when S.S.C. NAPOLI's Fulvio Muzzolon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. S.S.C. NAPOLI made a substitution. Jakub Moder replaced Fulvio Muzzolon. 76 minutes into the match, Berutti FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Pierucci came free, but Bruno Macario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Macario came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by S.S.C. NAPOLI's Dave Pierucci. But to his dismay, Dave Pierucci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Bruno Macario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Pierucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Berutti FC defense, Ciccio Bassani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Macario. The Berutti FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Macario should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Berutti FC booed when S.S.C. NAPOLI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. S.S.C. NAPOLI made a substitution. Corrado Silvestre replaced Fabrício Carmo. After 95 played minutes S.S.C. NAPOLI got a freekick which was hit by Diego Vargas. Berutti FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
