The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A sloppy throw-in by Rafael Pitin in the 2nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Roncourt's Florent Blanc. In the 5th match minute, Trabzon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Pitin to maneuver through the defense. Jo Adler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Brian Fumey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 played minutes Roncourt got a freekick which was hit by Jean-Marc Kazmierczak. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean-Marc Kazmierczak in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mustafa Hamit Kutlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jean-Marc Kazmierczak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 15th minute Jean-Marc Kazmierczak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Hamit Kutlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Trabzon's zone, Jean-Marc Kazmierczak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustafa Hamit Kutlu came out of the goal and Jean-Marc Kazmierczak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mustafa Hamit Kutlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Marc Kazmierczak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mustafa Hamit Kutlu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jean-Marc Kazmierczak's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 34 minutes Trabzon's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Horácio Larreta who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Trabzon's goalie and right to Jean-Marc Kazmierczak. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Trabzon's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Trabzon's Mustafa Hamit Kutlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Marc Kazmierczak in the 38th minute of play. Trabzon's Mustafa Hamit Kutlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Trabzon from getting a goal against them. When Jean-Marc Kazmierczak fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Roncourt's protests and gave Jean-Marc Kazmierczak a yellow card for diving instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Mustafa Hamit Kutlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Marc Kazmierczak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Adler in the 53rd minute of play forced Roncourt's goalkeeper Brian Fumey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mustafa Hamit Kutlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Marc Kazmierczak, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Rafael Pitin kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, J.P. Mustafa Hamit Kutlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léon Cailleaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Roncourt's Léon Cailleaux sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mustafa Hamit Kutlu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Roncourt's J.P. Kapar got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Léon Cailleaux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mustafa Hamit Kutlu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Trabzon's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
