Rubinho Lago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Eger in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho Lago saved Callegari from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Callegari's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Eger came free, but Rubinho Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Clóvis Proença cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Edgard de Almeida was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 14 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Barnaba Kolba came free, but Edgard de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clóvis Proença could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Edgard de Almeida made a huge save. Rubinho Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Luís Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Medeiros in the 28th minute of play forced Callegari's goalkeeper Rubinho Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubinho Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Eger in the 33rd minute of play. Clóvis Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 38 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clóvis Proença. Edgard de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnaba Kolba, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Edgard de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barnaba Kolba in the 41st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barnaba Kolba in the 46th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Barnaba Kolba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard de Almeida was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In a very dangerous position, a player in Montesclarense E.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! Meng Rong Zhou took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgard de Almeida. Edgard de Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. 89 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Guerrero came free, but Edgard de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Montesclarense E.C. defense, Eduardo Guerrero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard de Almeida. The Montesclarense E.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard de Almeida should have stopped the shot. Marcos Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Lago having to interfere. Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Laguna in the 95th minute of play. Edgard de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Guerrero in the 99th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Callegari fans cheered their team off the field, for while Montesclarense E.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
