The audience was convinced that Octav Romaşcanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cris Courtois was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. 5 minutes into the match, FC Lutanu's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Vianna came free, but Irinel Soneriu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cris Courtois made an important save on a dangerous shot by Philip Aelgoet in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Vianna in the 21st minute of play forced FC Lutanu's goalkeeper Irinel Soneriu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Brian Finnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irinel Soneriu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Steckamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Irinel Soneriu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Steckamp in the 28th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wambalamba FC's Osvaldo Meireles got a free kick in the 29th minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wambalamba FC reached it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robin Steckamp made a kick off. With a little luck, FC Lutanu's Irinel Soneriu got control of the ball when Juarês Donato tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to FC Lutanu getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Philip Aelgoet hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Octav Romaşcanu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Wambalamba FC's Cris Courtois. Cris Courtois was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robert Stârcea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cris Courtois. Wambalamba FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Robin Steckamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Irinel Soneriu made a huge save. Irinel Soneriu was a little too slow when Robin Steckamp got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-1. Wambalamba FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carlos Vianna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irinel Soneriu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juarês Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Wambalamba FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
