The corner led Berserkers FC Ψ's Iosif Budulea to fire away a dangerous shot which Lucas Savenije despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 17th minute Juan-Ramón Verón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Savenije saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Berserkers FC Ψ's Juan-Ramón Verón nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lucas Savenije made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lucas Savenije showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Ramón Verón in the 31st minute of the match. Alvise Pezzi made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Berserkers FC Ψ's Frode Olavesen. Lucas Savenije made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan-Ramón Verón in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enrico Tassotti to strike the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melchor Garoa couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Berserkers FC Ψ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
