Nistor Sârban could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Caranfil made a huge save. Rega Merida CF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elpidio Umbruso in the 11th minute. The corner led Rega Merida CF's Elpidio Umbruso to fire away a dangerous shot which Ovidiu Caranfil despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 16th minute, Abdulhamit Beycan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ovidiu Caranfil, passed just outside the right post. Nistor Sârban's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Caranfil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Well-Well Benne in the 19th minute of play forced Rega Merida CF's goalkeeper Konstanty Wawro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
