A collision led to FC Montana getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Cazimir Encica hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Adolfo Fidensio sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Aydın Mehmet threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Adolfo Fidensio this time. After 13 played minutes FC Montana got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Seyfi Serdinç. In the 15th minute, Club El Progreso's Cleto Cordaro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The supporters of Club El Progreso booed when FC Montana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Müfit Durhal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aydın Mehmet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indiana Jones in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cazimir Encica in the 27th minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aydın Mehmet came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Club El Progreso's Indiana Jones. But to his dismay, Indiana Jones quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Patricio Aurre hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Aydın Mehmet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 35th minute. Aydın Mehmet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Bot in the 39th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Patricio Aurre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Benjamin Tino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The audience was convinced that Indiana Jones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aydın Mehmet was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Washington Papa's late challenge caught a FC Montana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Washington Papa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Club El Progreso's Washington Papa got a free kick in the 55th minute. Aydın Mehmet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Bot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Montana's Aydın Mehmet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patricio Aurre got free with Benjamin Tino in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aydın Mehmet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 played minutes FC Montana got a freekick which was hit by Gürsel Sirer. FC Montana's Aydın Mehmet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 72nd minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ioan Cândea to maneuver through the defense.
