Pavel Romanescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Czeszejko in the 26th minute of the match. When Fabian Czeszejko came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Olimpia HSB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Czeszejko couldn't finish the play. In the 34th match minute, Olimpia HSB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Piekarczyk to maneuver through the defense. Antanas Pelėda kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Pavel Romanescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Czeszejko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Fabian Czeszejko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olimpia HSB's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Czeszejko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavel Romanescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olimpia HSB's Fabian Czeszejko got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antanas Pelėda hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Pavel Romanescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Czeszejko, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After 47 played minutes Olimpia HSB got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Czeszejko. After the first half Olimpia HSB were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavel Romanescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fernando Morientes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 75 minutes in the game, Fernando Morientes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pavel Romanescu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miltos Kotsovolos in the 76th minute of play forced Olimpia HSB's goalkeeper Tolek Kiszkiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Czeszejko might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavel Romanescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabian Czeszejko ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabian Czeszejko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Pavel Romanescu made a huge save. The supporters of Olimpia HSB booed when FC Pegasas Siauliai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antanas Pelėda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacek Pietrowiak got free with Pavel Romanescu in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lukas Liaudanskas's late challenge caught a Olimpia HSB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lukas Liaudanskas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Olimpia HSB booed when FC Pegasas Siauliai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lukas Liaudanskas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olimpia HSB played a much better game than FC Pegasas Siauliai and deserved their victory. The FC Pegasas Siauliai players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
