The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wellington Donatello hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Adriano Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niki Lauda in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Marco Rudolfo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 9 minutes, Jardel Araújo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SUPERSTAR - DMZ and the RIVER players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Jardel Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute Marco Rudolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adriano Sergipano came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER's Eric Târban. But to his dismay, Eric Târban quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Adriano Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Nuxila in the 17th minute of play. Wu Li Zhi took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adriano Sergipano. Adriano Sergipano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. SUPERSTAR - DMZ's Adriano Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niki Lauda in the 21st minute of play. Bruno Oxarra scored 0-5 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adriano Sergipano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adriano Sergipano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wu Li Zhi went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Mário Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Marco Rudolfo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adriano Sergipano. SUPERSTAR - DMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, SUPERSTAR - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Târban came free, but Adriano Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SUPERSTAR - DMZ getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Adelino Faria hit a great ball. RIVER made a substitution. Domingo Remigio replaced Bruno Oxarra. SUPERSTAR - DMZ's Adriano Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niki Lauda in the 40th minute of play. Adriano Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Târban, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Adriano Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niki Lauda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half RIVER were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Senna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Wu Li Zhi managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Wu Li Zhi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adriano Sergipano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Niki Lauda received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adriano Sergipano came out and tried to block the shot, but Niki Lauda slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 56th minute. Adriano Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Târban in the 58th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Eric Târban took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for Adriano Sergipano to make any attempt to save it. Adriano Sergipano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Târban in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, SUPERSTAR - DMZ's goalkeeper Adriano Sergipano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipo Benedetto. In the 67th minute Eric Târban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SUPERSTAR - DMZ's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Niki Lauda 70 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-11. RIVER's Tobias Belmiro was substituted for Rosendo Osorio. In the 76th match minute, SUPERSTAR - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. After 81 minutes, Adelino Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SUPERSTAR - DMZ and the RIVER players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adelino Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Niki Lauda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adriano Sergipano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-14. Pipo Benedetto scored 0-15 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adriano Sergipano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adriano Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niki Lauda in the 96th minute of the match. RIVER's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
