In the 17th minute Mirolyub Dragoychev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cai Fei Cheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mesere's Luís Gustavo Pimenta in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lokomotiv Plovdiv's goalie prevented a goal. After 20 played minutes Lokomotiv Plovdiv got a freekick which was hit by Yulian Florov. The wind increased when Sven Brask made the kick off in the second half. Mesere's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anatoli Búnev in the 52nd minute. Anatoli Búnev made a great header on Mesere's corner, it was just that Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Krum Nikolchov managed to reach the ball for a save. 54 minutes into the game, Zdzislaw Obuchowicz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cai Fei Cheng. Zdzislaw Obuchowicz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. One of Lokomotiv Plovdiv:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mesere:s goal. Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Krum Nikolchov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segio Galantia in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Lokomotiv Plovdiv booed when Mesere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Emrah Vahip didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Lokomotiv Plovdiv supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lokomotiv Plovdiv would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
