Australian Youth Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wilton Fontes ran over to the corner to take the kick. 9 minutes into the game, Daniel Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Keylor Navas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 12 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Sousa came free, but Keylor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Daniel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Sousa in the 24th minute of play forced Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Keylor Navas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Daniel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Garth Brough took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Thomás Toscano to make any attempt to save it. Thomás Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Brough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Keylor Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Sousa in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Australian Youth Academy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilton Fontes was slow to take the kick. During this time Capibaribe Stars's players had a chance to rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Garth Brough to make the kick off. Thomás Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Brough's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Garth Brough notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Capibaribe Stars's Thomás Toscano. Thomás Toscano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Sousas short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Keylor Navas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Capibaribe Stars's Robinho Urbano was substituted for Daniel Sousa. In the 61st match minute, Australian Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Baba to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the game, Albino Gaskon threw the ball into play from the sideline. Australian Youth Academy's Jarrod Mcmillan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 66th minute, Garth Brough left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Australian Youth Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 75 minutes in the game Albino Gaskon did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Henry Costa. 77 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomás Toscano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 86 in the game by Robinho Urbano from a close distance when the talented Keylor Navas managed to make a qualified save. Australian Youth Academy's players were relieved. In the 88th minute, Capibaribe Stars's Hicham Al Azka ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Keylor Navas. Keylor Navas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Keylor Navas came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Capibaribe Stars's Robinho Urbano. But to his dismay, Robinho Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
