Catugi FC's Reko Nybacka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 袁昂宁 in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of G.R. booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 袁昂宁 in the 16th minute of play. Reko Nybacka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 袁昂宁 in the 18th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, G.R.'s Jamar Vang nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Catugi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiano Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reko Nybacka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yefet Bar-Zohar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reko Nybacka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 袁昂宁, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir Pombal in the 48th minute of play forced G.R.'s goalkeeper Matheus Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper, Matheus Toscano, was totally fooled by Catugi FC's Vicente Valladares, who 51 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliya Tabachnik to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walmir Pombal in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matheus Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The player immediately received a yellow card. 袁昂宁 hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. 100 minutes into the game, Fabiano Maranhense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Matheus Toscano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Catugi FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while G.R. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
