With a little luck, Abasto fútbol club's Angelino Roldan got control of the ball when Loco Borja tried to sneak it across the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Isidoro Playo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Abasto fútbol club's Hudson Falcão quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio-Paul Caniggia in the 13th minute of play forced LA MAQUINA F.C's goalkeeper Higinio Porfiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes LA MAQUINA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Playo. Higinio Porfiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eskil Lindblom in the 30th minute of play. If Eskil Lindblom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Higinio Porfiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eskil Lindblom, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eskil Lindblom sped through LA MAQUINA F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Higinio Porfiro. Fernando Dominguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Porfiro having to interfere. Eskil Lindblom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. LA MAQUINA F.C's Higinio Porfiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eskil Lindblom in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by LA MAQUINA F.C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hudson Falcão was slow to take the kick. During this time Abasto fútbol club's players had a chance to rest. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
