Genaro Elivareo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Teles having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Salles came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Salles in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cecilio Tristan got free with Jailson Teles in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Sági, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jailson Teles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 20th minute. After 24 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Pombal. After some careless play in the Abuba Akotonon FC defense, Dario Alegría kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Orlando Gatti. The Abuba Akotonon FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Orlando Gatti should have stopped the shot. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Cecilio Tristan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Jailson Teles made a huge save. After 37 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ivory Gunn. 41 minutes into the game, Cecilio Tristan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abuba Akotonon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AVAÍ F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Abuba Akotonon FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Cecilio Tristan hit a great ball. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Sági, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Walmyr Salles made the kick off in the second half. Cecilio Tristan scored 1-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jailson Teles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 97th match minute, Abuba Akotonon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lance Veloz to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Alex Sági sent off a good shot on target. Abuba Akotonon FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
