Afonso Cardozo took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celedonio Eguen. Celedonio Eguen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Andres van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruperto Serafo in the 9th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wei Guang Xing. In the 14th minute of the match MONTANHA got a corner. Matheu City FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Afonso Cardozo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Afonso Cardozo made a great header on MONTANHA's corner, it was just that Matheu City FC's Celedonio Eguen managed to reach the ball for a save. MONTANHA were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Matheu City FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Afonso Cardozo took the corner. After taking down the ball on MONTANHA's corner Afonso Cardozo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Celedonio Eguen quite easily take care of the ball. Anier Manny kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wei Guang Xing. Wei Guang Xing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Celedonio Eguen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of MONTANHA booed when Matheu City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Gomez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celedonio Eguen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Afonso Cardozo. Andres van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Marin in the 32nd minute of the match. Afonso Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Cardozo in the 39th minute of play forced Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 played minutes MONTANHA got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Matos. Andres van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Marin in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of MONTANHA booed when Matheu City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Jenaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Minas Makris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wei Guang Xing stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ruperto Serafo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres van der Sar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Minas Makris ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andres van der Sar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 63 minutes Matheu City FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Afonso Cardozo who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to MONTANHA's Gonçalo Matos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 70th minute Minas Makris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andres van der Sar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robinho Salgado in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute of the match Matheu City FC got a corner. MONTANHA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anselmo Jenaro ran over to the corner to take the kick. MONTANHA's Andres van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Manny in the 80th minute of play. Wei Guang Xing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Eguen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Cardozo in the 90th minute of play forced Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The MONTANHA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Matheu City FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Matheu City FC.
