In the 9th minute Oinomoas Konstantatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Orlando Medina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the La Candela FC defense, Tomasz Bambas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruben Sánchez. The La Candela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruben Sánchez should have stopped the shot. Ruben Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orland Uceda in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to Deportivo Ortegano getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Tomasz Bambas hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Nicasio Guipuzcoa in the 16th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Oinomoas Konstantatos kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luis Medero hit a great ball. Ruben Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Koller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Koller in the 28th minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Koller in the 29th minute of play. In the 34thth minute of the game Jan Koller who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Candela FC's Ruben Sánchez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nicasio Guipuzcoa kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Korneliusz Rasimowicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubén-Darío Feldmann in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Deportivo Ortegano were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Deportivo Ortegano made a substitution. Dario Draxler replaced Orland Uceda. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martin Palermo to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Deportivo Ortegano's Jan Koller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruben Sánchez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 87 minutes, Jan Koller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Ortegano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Koller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Candela FC's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, La Candela FC's Nahuel Molina got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Deportivo Ortegano had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
