Dobromir Keep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bray McJon in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Purple Shadows's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilson Fernandez was slow to take the kick. During this time Montevideo's players had a chance to rest. Wilson Fernandez made a great header on Montevideo's corner, it was just that Purple Shadows's Dobromir Keep managed to reach the ball for a save. Luisito Antequera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Dobromir Keep made a huge save. Dobromir Keep showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bray McJon in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Montevideo's Bray McJon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dobromir Keep. Dobromir Keep yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When Vlastimir Jovanović fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Purple Shadows's protests and gave Vlastimir Jovanović a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Purple Shadows got a freekick which was hit by Jakob Alberg. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tonin Zogu in the 35th minute of play. With his leg Dobromir Keep managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Montevideo's Bray McJon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A nice corner shot did that Fernandão Recife got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dobromir Keep quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dobromir Keep came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Bray McJon. But to his dismay, Bray McJon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Zeca de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match Emil Soliwoda sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronaldo Medeiros skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Purple Shadows was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tonin Zogu didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gorom Kanø to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gorom Kanø got free with Ronaldo Medeiros in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldo Medeiros was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gorom Kanø showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 58 minute of play. Dobromir Keep showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Recife in the 61st minute of the match. Purple Shadows's Dobromir Keep played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Antequera in the 63rd minute of play. Dobromir Keep took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bray McJon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tonin Zogu kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 68 minutes of play, Montevideo's Bray McJon made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dobromir Keep was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakob Alberg in the 72nd minute of play. Dobromir Keep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bray McJon, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Luisito Antequera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dobromir Keep read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gorom Kanø in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Antequera in the 80th minute of play forced Purple Shadows's goalkeeper Dobromir Keep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gorom Kanø. Ronaldo Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Relja Jurišić in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Bray McJon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dobromir Keep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bray McJon in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Zeca de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernandão Recife took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dobromir Keep. Dobromir Keep dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. 93 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Gorom Kanø came free, but Ronaldo Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Purple Shadows was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlastimir Jovanović didn't get a good kick on the ball. Purple Shadows's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
