Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 56th minute Eustacio Inko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Zhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Islas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Thomas Albaret was slow to take the kick. During this time SILMONT's players had a chance to rest. The SILMONT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Qiu Zhi should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute, Javier Bordat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The SILMONT supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SILMONT would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
