In the 12th minute, Bruno Capello made a precise shot to the right of Tzvetoslav Desov. SvE United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hristo Stoichkov. After a defensive mix-up in SvE United's zone, Bruno Capello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tzvetoslav Desov came out of the goal and Bruno Capello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tzvetoslav Desov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Capello in the 40th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vitko Kozlov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Los Trip's Agustín Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonny Kleen in the 51st minute of play. Tzvetoslav Desov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Los Trip's Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca was substituted for Bruno Capello. Agustín Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hristo Stoichkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute Jonny Kleen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustín Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
