After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Seb Hedges managed to get in a good position for a shot. DENVER™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Seb Hedges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepe Santoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of DENVER™ booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorg Pieters didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute Seb Hedges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Independiente's Pepe Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seb Hedges in the 12th minute of play. Daniël Orange blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pepe Santoro having to make a save. Pepe Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniël Orange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goalkeeper Mustafa Cumhur Gök had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorg Pieters. 17 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when Sören Bengtsson came free, but Mustafa Cumhur Gök reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seb Hedges in the 21st minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Pepe Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepe Santoro came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by DENVER™'s Seb Hedges. But to his dismay, Seb Hedges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Seb Hedges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pepe Santoro came out of the goal and Seb Hedges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Beltran in the 28th minute of play forced DENVER™'s goalkeeper Mustafa Cumhur Gök to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Sören Bengtsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mustafa Cumhur Gök. DENVER™'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sören Bengtsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Seb Hedges came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the DENVER™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seb Hedges couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Abadia hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isidoro Beltran to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, DENVER™'s goal looked a bit too open when Jorg Pieters came free, but Mustafa Cumhur Gök reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Seb Hedges had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pepe Santoro. Mustafa Cumhur Gök made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorg Pieters in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Pepe Santoro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorg Pieters to maneuver through the defense. Independiente's Serafín Berganza was substituted for Albano Bertol. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Jorg Pieters got a free kick in the 68th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Seb Hedges came free, but Pepe Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Seb Hedges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniël Orange might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pepe Santoro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniël Orange ran back to his position shaking his head. Pepe Santoro made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Seb Hedges sent off a good shot on target. Pepe Santoro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Seb Hedges in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Beltran in the 85th minute of play forced DENVER™'s goalkeeper Mustafa Cumhur Gök to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes in the game, Isidoro Beltran dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Reynaldo Abadia hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Reynaldo Abadia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mustafa Cumhur Gök made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorg Pieters in the 93rd minute of play. Seb Hedges struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Pepe Santoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DENVER™. Chants of DENVER™ echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Independiente had held the ball for most of the match.
