With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Fonso in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anders Lundqvist saved Golden Lions FC from getting behind. After 10 played minutes Club Ibiza got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Ireno. Loco Durazno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Rene Higuita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Fonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anders Lundqvist having to interfere. Arne Tönnberg made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Loco Durazno immediately put the ball in play. Club Ibiza's Rafa Marques quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Igor Dzierwa, made in the 34th minute of the game. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Golden Lions FC's goalkeeper Anders Lundqvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Golden Lions FC's Mats Nyström ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rene Higuita. Rene Higuita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Mats Nyström in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rene Higuita, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Club Ibiza's Rene Higuita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mats Nyström in the 40th minute of play. Ştefan Vornicescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mats Nyström in the 58th minute of the match. In the 91st minute of the match Golden Lions FC got a corner. Club Ibiza's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cosme Larpe ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Club Ibiza's goalie and right to Georg Termander. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Club Ibiza's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 93rd minute Burç Tokhan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Burç Tokhan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Golden Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Golden Lions FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
