An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Alvarenga in the 33rd minute of play forced Locura Académica's goalkeeper Davide Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davide Franco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute Sven-Edvin Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davide Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Locura Académica's Davide Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 42nd minute of play. GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 46 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Huezo.

The wind increased when Urbano Ortega made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Ortega in the 54th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zico Zellier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Nyangnyang Rungkat came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Locura Académica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nyangnyang Rungkat couldn't finish the play. GuateFortín made a substitution. Mario Gomez replaced Stanyo Búnkov. The crowd rose to their feet as GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Davide Franco. That made the score 0-6 after 65 minutes of play. If William Villanueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rd minute Urbano Ortega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. William Villanueva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Davide Franco made a huge save. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Locura Académica's goalkeeper Davide Franco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. GuateFortín walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
