Stanyo Búnkov spun around in front of the goal 9 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Granadero10's goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Tana Rede managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granadero10's supporters rose to their feet, but Tana Rede was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nery Pumpido breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vítor Antunes in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Granadero10's goal looked a bit too open when Stanyo Búnkov came free, but Alfredinho Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Granadero10's Alfredinho Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zico Zellier in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Heriberto Correa. GuateFortín's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Máximo Perrone in the 32nd minute. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Antunes in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Antunes came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Granadero10's Alfredinho Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zico Zellier in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanyo Búnkov in the 39th minute of play forced Granadero10's goalkeeper Alfredinho Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Ocampo. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tana Rede, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tana Rede to make the kick off. Alfredinho Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zico Zellier in the 60th minute of play. Fredrik Masculier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nery Pumpido having to interfere. Nery Pumpido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tana Rede's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute of the match Granadero10 got a corner. GuateFortín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vítor Antunes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of GuateFortín's goalie and right to Tana Rede. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. GuateFortín's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Edvin Jansson got free with Alfredinho Cavalcante in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Granadero10 made a substitution. Norberto Simão replaced Vítor Antunes. In the 75th match minute, Granadero10 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Santos to maneuver through the defense. Granadero10 made a substitution. Erick Cavero replaced Laerte Soeiro. In the 80th minute of the match Granadero10 got a corner. GuateFortín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nery Pumpido made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Severino Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nery Pumpido having to interfere. A collision led to Granadero10 getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Iwo Kaparelis hit a great ball. Alfredinho Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Stanyo Búnkov. But to his dismay, Stanyo Búnkov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 96 minutes into the match, Granadero10's goalkeeper Alfredinho Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stanyo Búnkov.
