With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio Penha in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eskil Vester saved October 04 from getting behind. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Cascajares in the 23rd minute of play. Jerônimo Favoretto's late challenge caught a October 04's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerônimo Favoretto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of October 04 booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerônimo Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mickaël Maris stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilio Cascajares's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Laércio Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eskil Vester read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a corner. October 04's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Fábio de Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. Heitor Ferreira made a great header on Nova Iguaçu MZFC's corner, it was just that October 04's Eskil Vester managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 33rd minute Nova Iguaçu MZFC were awarded a corner. Luiz Fábio de Medeiros went to the cornerflag to take it. Laércio Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eskil Vester came out of the goal and Laércio Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Laércio Penha made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Penha in the 51st minute of play forced October 04's goalkeeper Eskil Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's attentive Heitor Ferreira managed to snatch the ball when Andrey Nazarov made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laércio Penha in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eskil Vester prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio Penha in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eskil Vester saved October 04 from getting behind. Eskil Vester didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laércio Penha went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when October 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrey Nazarov didn't get a good kick on the ball. October 04's Luís Paulo Pernambucano was substituted for Claudinei Custódio. October 04's Wilian Alcântara was substituted for Aníbal Correia. A collision led to October 04 getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Andrey Nazarov hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the game, Waldemar de Sena threw the ball into play from the sideline. The audience was convinced that Laércio Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eskil Vester was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Emilio Cascajares came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mickaël Maris could save by the left post. In the 79th minute October 04 were awarded a corner. Fellipe Valle went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Fellipe Valle got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mickaël Maris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo Pernambucano in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute, October 04's Luís Paulo Pernambucano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nova Iguaçu MZFC had won after a very even match.
