With his leg Fabio Paredes managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Niculae Ungureanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolás García, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niculae Ungureanu was the one to do the kick off. But to his dismay, Ödön Szily quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Fabio Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ödön Szily in the 53rd minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, Niculae Ungureanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Fabio Paredes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabio Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Ungureanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the game, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Niculae Ungureanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Paredes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. When Nicolás García came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Real Panama CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolás García couldn't finish the play.
