In the 16th minute Lucio Galo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andriy Lunin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Elodio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Gabriel Urtats made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Elodio in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Urtats saved Areco FC from getting behind. David Elodio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Gabriel Urtats skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats got control of the ball when David Elodio tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Elodio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Gabriel Urtats made a huge save. In the 34th minute, Zeledon Sol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andriy Lunin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Ödön Szily had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Areco FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Sol was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, David Elodio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats. Gabriel Urtats was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
