A throw-in in the 44th minute of the game was made by 鲁霖卫 with Aare Leht as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Monitor Huáscar's Apostol Sokolov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Monitor Huáscar from getting a goal against them. Apostol Sokolov was a little too slow when 于钢迅 got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-1. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 陶翔平 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Apostol Sokolov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Estefan, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Claudio Quiroga might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 陶翔平. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudio Quiroga ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's goal looked a bit too open when 于钢迅 came free, but Apostol Sokolov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Claudio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 陶翔平 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
