In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Pildesti's zone, Grant Black stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal and Grant Black tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marian Văduvescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yu Jie Xing went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Marian Văduvescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yu Jie Xing in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Staffordshire Terrier FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Stere came free, but Clive Holloway reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 44 minutes, Filip Paulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filip Paulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
