With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anselmo Gama prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eduardo Pires's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Anselmo Gama skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Albino Cugat came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the MACAU. F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albino Cugat couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute Şükrü Yazargil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Gabrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Gama made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Eduardo Pires sent off a good shot on target. When Eduardo Pires got free in front of the goal in the 33rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Anselmo Gama was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge-Luis Borges got free with Anselmo Gama in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute Eduardo Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Gama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Gama took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge-Luis Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Penuel Football Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bater Pivetta was slow to take the kick. During this time MACAU. F.C's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Bater Pivetta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Penuel Football Club's Epifanio Gabrio did a great save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Albino Cugat made the kick off in the second half. After 54th play minutes Cristiano Pelé shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Epifanio Gabrio and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Eduardo Pires's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Gama was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 60th minute Penuel Football Club were awarded a corner. Victor Amato went to the cornerflag to take it.
