Kaká Carneiros short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Nicolas Kepa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Romulo Viator took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Enetz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas Kepa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaká Carneiro's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. When Su Shu Zhen came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the OTTO FC - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Su Shu Zhen couldn't finish the play. With 18 minutes on the clock, Lenílson Nascimento commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 17th minute, one of OTTO FC - FSCMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for OTTO FC - FSCMZ. Romulo Viator came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de La Plata's Santiago Iaki. But to his dismay, Santiago Iaki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Estudiantes de La Plata's Nicolas Kepa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Su Shu Zhen in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute of the match OTTO FC - FSCMZ got a corner. Estudiantes de La Plata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Su Shu Zhen ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 31 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Evarado. In the 33rd minute, Su Shu Zhen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The OTTO FC - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Nicolas Kepa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ren Xiang Xun, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 37 minutes, Esteve Pueblo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estudiantes de La Plata and the OTTO FC - FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Esteve Pueblo hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Estudiantes de La Plata's Nicolas Kepa got control of the ball when Su Shu Zhen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicolas Kepa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Su Shu Zhen in the 40th minute of the match. Su Shu Zhen scored 2-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicolas Kepa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicolas Kepa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Su Shu Zhen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Estudiantes de La Plata made a substitution. Pastor Bikendi replaced Joel Barco. Estudiantes de La Plata's Eugenio Gartzea was substituted for Esteve Pueblo. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Su Shu Zhen was the one to do the kick off. 61 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Su Shu Zhen came free, but Nicolas Kepa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Romulo Viator played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Enetz in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute Rogelio Sotil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Viator saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Su Shu Zhen put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nicolas Kepa. Eugenio Gartzea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Su Shu Zhen might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolas Kepa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Su Shu Zhen ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee felt a red card was in order, 86 minutes into the game, when Anton Mălăele put in a rough tackle. After 92 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Poz. In the 94th minute, Donato Enetz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardinho Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Nicolas Kepa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
