With his leg Farid Mondragón managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Deportivo Turro's Malcolm Stenman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Malcolm Stenman came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Farid Mondragón could save by the left post. Malcolm Stenman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Mondragón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. When Cipriano Urko fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Turro's protests and gave Cipriano Urko a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, Cipriano Urko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Deportivo Turro's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eric Snowden was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Independiente's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on C. A. Independiente's corner Eric Snowden fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Germán Luz quite easily take care of the ball. Malcolm Stenman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Mondragón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Deportivo Turro's Germán Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Forbes in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Xu Yun Quan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Germán Luz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 23 minutes into the match, Deportivo Turro's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Germán Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germán Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 23rd minute of the match. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm Stenman in the 25th minute of play. Germán Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Forbes in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Deportivo Turro's Malcolm Stenman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Farid Mondragón made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Malcolm Stenman took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Farid Mondragón. Farid Mondragón dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 38 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Malcolm Stenman came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germán Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 40th minute of the match. Deportivo Turro's Germán Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 47th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Deportivo Turro's Cipriano Urko seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cipriano Urko the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Deportivo Turro protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cipriano Urko had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Turro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C. A. Independiente:s goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Al Horford to make the kick off. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Ponc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryszard Prusinowski to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Txartiko came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germán Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 65th minute of play. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amancio Ponc in the 69th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Turro's Wilton Queirós got a free kick in the 73rd minute. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Deportivo Turro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute of the match Eric Snowden shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Germán Luz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 76th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germán Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germán Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Germán Luz made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Sidney Forbes sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute, Kerry Sellers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Germán Luz. The goal made the score 2-3. A collision led to Deportivo Turro getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Al Horford hit a great ball. The supporters of Deportivo Turro booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Prusinowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. C. A. Independiente had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
