The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Tepedino in the 4th minute of play. Herbert Hilhorst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denílson Tepedino in the 13th minute of the match. Harm de Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Herbert Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Tepedino in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Denílson Tepedino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herbert Hilhorst was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. When Denílson Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the ADM Taquaras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denílson Tepedino couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ADM Taquaras's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Áron Bódog in the 35th minute. The corner led ADM Taquaras's Áron Bódog to fire away a dangerous shot which Herbert Hilhorst despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Tepedino in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Geels in the 40th minute of play forced ADM Taquaras's goalkeeper Jeremias Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herbert Hilhorst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denílson Tepedino in the 42nd minute of the match. When Denílson Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the ADM Taquaras fans jumped to their feet. The Verwachting players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ADM Taquaras were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christijan Schreuder to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Olívio Meireles threw the ball into play from the sideline. Verwachting's Vincent Koekkoek quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After having played for 54 minutes, Denílson Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ADM Taquaras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denílson Tepedino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ruud Geels scored 1-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Moreno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Denílson Tepedino took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Herbert Hilhorst. Herbert Hilhorst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of ADM Taquaras booed when Verwachting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Koekkoek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herbert Hilhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After taking down the ball on ADM Taquaras's corner Olívio Meireles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Herbert Hilhorst quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Celsinho Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. ADM Taquaras's supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herbert Hilhorst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute of the match, Denílson Tepedino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Herbert Hilhorst saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Verwachting's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Malcolm Westerberg was slow to take the kick. During this time ADM Taquaras's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Denílson Tepedino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst did a great save. Jeremias Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Geels in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Åhman in the 87th minute of play forced Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hans Deitmers hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Tales De Mileto kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After 94 minutes ADM Taquaras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Harm de Freitas who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Verwachting's Harm de Freitas to fire away a dangerous shot which Jeremias Moreno despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
