Rian Giggs did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Tony Guimarães 3 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute of the match, Cássio Correia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tony Guimarães was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Isaac Eate hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Cássio Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Tony Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Petri Romuroso came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Sabaneta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petri Romuroso couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Sabaneta FC's Tony Guimarães threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rian Giggs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 15th minute, Brun Bucaran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aquiles Manex's late challenge caught a Sabaneta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aquiles Manex helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes C. A. Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Aquiles Manex. Rian Giggs struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Tony Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabaneta FC. The throw-in from Brun Bucaran in the 23rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C. A. Atlanta's Aquiles Manex. Tony Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Firman Urquizu sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute of the match, Cássio Correia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tony Guimarães was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sabaneta FC were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after C. A. Atlanta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabian Lawrence took the corner. Tony Guimarães was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Firman Urquizu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Firman Urquizu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Petri Romuroso might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Petri Romuroso ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th minute, Firman Urquizu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Primo, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Petri Romuroso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Stanislaw Cempa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the game, Isaac Eate was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabaneta FC the free kick. After 44 played minutes C. A. Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Eate. In the 48th minute, Sabaneta FC got a penalty, and Cássio Correia placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rian Giggs to make the kick off. After some careless play in the C. A. Atlanta defense, Rian Giggs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Guimarães. The C. A. Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Guimarães should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petri Romuroso in the 56th minute of play forced C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led to Sabaneta FC's Petri Romuroso getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iker Dolfos during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to C. A. Atlanta getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Iker Dolfos hit a great ball. In the 61st minute of the match Zeru Recino sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tony Guimarães skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Correia in the 64th minute of play forced C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Teodoro Primo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabaneta FC's Yoel Magarinos was substituted for Firman Urquizu. In the 69th minute, Teodoro Primo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute of the match Osmundo Bolde shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tony Guimarães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Cássio Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 76th minute Rian Giggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes C. A. Atlanta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Osmundo Bolde who took care of the corner kick. Sabaneta FC's Antonio Masciarelli was substituted for Stanislaw Cempa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rian Giggs in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Guimarães saved C. A. Atlanta from getting behind. Rian Giggs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tony Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rian Giggs in the 86th minute of play. C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Masciarelli in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Petri Romuroso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Tony Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Correia in the 93rd minute of play forced C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yoel Magarinos kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rian Giggs in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sabaneta FC fully deserved thier win.
