Atlanta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teodoro Primo in the 10th minute. After taking down the ball on C. A. Atlanta's corner Teodoro Primo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lázaro Colon quite easily take care of the ball. Evaristo Rosio made in the 16th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Constantino Bertol however managed to control. Romulo Hever hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Uriel Isias made a precise shot to the right of Tony Guimarães. C. A. Atlanta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Tony Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Isias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Nicanor Porfirio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Juniors FC's Nicanor Porfirio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Guimarães narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicanor Porfirio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Guimarães having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Evaristo Rosio threw the ball into play from the sideline. Juniors FC's Eduardo Gervaso quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The supporters of C. A. Atlanta booed when Juniors FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kami Glik didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Enrique Frasco sped through C. A. Atlanta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tony Guimarães. A sloppy throw-in by Evaristo Rosio in the 79th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Juniors FC's Wlodzimierz Lepper. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner went over the outstretched arms of C. A. Atlanta's goalie and right to Matias Panpili. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. C. A. Atlanta's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The C. A. Atlanta fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Juniors FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
