Atlanta's Tony Guimarães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 9 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Rian Giggs came free, but Tony Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Masciarelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After taking down the ball on Sabaneta FC's corner Fabian Lawrence fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tony Guimarães quite easily take care of the ball. After 33 played minutes, Sabaneta FC's Fabian Lawrence shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tony Guimarães came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sabaneta FC reached it. 42 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Sasoin came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Sabaneta FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teodoro Primo made a kick off. Rian Giggs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Tony Guimarães when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Antonio Masciarelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tony Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Rian Giggs sent off a good shot on target. Cássio Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Correia. Sabaneta FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
