Nichifor Codruț started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Castel came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Denílson Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Niculae Isvoreanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Deilmison van Basten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Niculae Isvoreanu. F.C.BARLAD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Deilmison van Basten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Niculae Isvoreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Rodriguinho Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Braulio Castel in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute of the match ATHLETICO PRaiano got a corner. F.C.BARLAD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Deilmison van Basten ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 21st minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Niculae Isvoreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes of play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Denílson Magalhães made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Niculae Isvoreanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Unax Mudarra might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niculae Isvoreanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unax Mudarra ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Unax Mudarra put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Niculae Isvoreanu. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute of the match, Daniel Bacalbașa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to F.C.BARLAD getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Florin Aalexoaiei hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, F.C.BARLAD's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Magalhães came free, but Niculae Isvoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, Deilmison van Basten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Niculae Isvoreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Magalhães in the 51st minute of play. Betão Marquez hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute of the match Calistrat Bucuță sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodriguinho Sousa skillfully saved the ball. Rodriguinho Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Castel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodriguinho Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braulio Castel in the 58th minute of the match. Deilmison van Basten's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Niculae Isvoreanu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 60 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Nichifor Codruț came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Denílson Magalhães kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Niculae Isvoreanu. That made the score 0-6 in the 69 minute of play. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Erubiel Valery was substituted for Betão Marquez. Marcu Filimon hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. F.C.BARLAD's Niculae Isvoreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 75th minute of play. Deilmison van Basten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Niculae Isvoreanu having to make a save. In the 79th minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Isvoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Niculae Isvoreanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Niculae Isvoreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 84th minute of the match. Niculae Isvoreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A throw-in in the 94th minute of the game was made by Marcu Filimon with Daniel Bacalbașa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 95th minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Niculae Isvoreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ATHLETICO PRaiano had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
