When Ronaldinho Gaucho came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Joinville City - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldinho Gaucho couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gutierre Lauri. In the 16th minute, Geovanildo Luis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willem Rinert in the 20th minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergus Maina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Joinville City - FSCMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Willem Rinert was slow to take the kick. During this time Ämmer Sportfreaks's players had a chance to rest. Rey Hirter hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Geovanildo Luis got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geovanildo Luis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fergus Maina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanildo Luis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Joinville City - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Geovanildo Luis hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gutierre Lauri made the kick off in the second half. Ronaldinho Gaucho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fergus Maina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. In the 51st minute, Joinville City - FSCMZ's Ronaldinho Gaucho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fergus Maina. Fergus Maina yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Fergus Maina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanildo Luis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th match minute, Ämmer Sportfreaks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Ignatius to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gutierre Lauri in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haji Sarap saved Joinville City - FSCMZ from getting behind. Geovanildo Luis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fergus Maina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Ronaldinho Gaucho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fergus Maina firmly grabbed it by the left post. 77 minutes into the game, Gutierre Lauri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Haji Sarap was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joinville City - FSCMZ made a substitution. João Francisco Arce replaced Ronaldinho Gaucho. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Horácio Abraão was substituted for Bernardino Llorenc. After a rather tough play, Ämmer Sportfreaks's Horacio Ignatius got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Fergus Maina made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Francisco Arce in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Arce in the 87th minute of play forced Ämmer Sportfreaks's goalkeeper Fergus Maina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joinville City - FSCMZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
