Ronaldinho Gaucho ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Geovanildo Luis took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Pavlos Konstantakakis to make any attempt to save it. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinu Bocu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pavlos Konstantakakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Hamburg Fighters getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Gianni Balla hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanildo Luis in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavlos Konstantakakis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 47 minutes, Brandon Rick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hamburg Fighters and the Joinville City - FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Hamburg Fighters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Rick to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Haji Sarap made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Dinu Bocu sent off a good shot on target. Pavlos Konstantakakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis in the 72nd minute of play. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos was substituted for Geovanildo Luis. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hamburg Fighters's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomás Reis was slow to take the kick. During this time Joinville City - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Tomás Reis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pavlos Konstantakakis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Hamburg Fighters getting a freekick after 81 minutes play.
