Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grentino FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Georgi Dimitrov was slow to take the kick. During this time FC CSKA's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Bradley de Nooijer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio did a great save. Falcão Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Refik Ülgü came free, but Falcão Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

FC CSKA's Asparuh Genovski was substituted for Ronaldinho de Carvalho. The wind increased when Erasmo Simão made the kick off in the second half.
