In the 11th minute Viktor Axelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basri İhtiyar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basri İhtiyar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cătălin Agulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute of the match, Olaf Gall got a very nice opportunity to score, but Călin Prunaru was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Fermin Dolfo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Călin Prunaru came out and tried to block the shot, but Fermin Dolfo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Fermin Dolfo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Călin Prunaru having to make a save. Călin Prunaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Gall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basri İhtiyar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Isbășoiu went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktor Axelsson in the 30th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Basri İhtiyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute of the match Diego Armando Junior sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Călin Prunaru skillfully saved the ball. Fermin Dolfo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Călin Prunaru made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Agulescu in the 33rd minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Basri İhtiyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Yalapa's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Isbășoiu came free, but Basri İhtiyar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fermin Dolfo in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Călin Prunaru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Călin Prunaru was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Fermin Dolfo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fermin Dolfo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Ramon Herrera kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viktor Axelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Yalapa fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC MCM had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
