The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Villa Mitre City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Maria didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute, Robben Spoelberchs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Feliciano Fernendo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Wincent Dropinski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ariel Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Stefano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Saturnino Lehior came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Villa Mitre City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Lehior couldn't finish the play. 17 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Stefano came free, but Ariel Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Fernendo in the 18th minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Wincent Dropinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Stefano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ariel Ponc was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 25th minute Alfredo Stefano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes of play, Villa Mitre City's Arsenio Maria made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wincent Dropinski was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Castanheiro SC's Alfredo Stefano in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villa Mitre City's goalie prevented a goal. 34 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Lehior came free, but Wincent Dropinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Ponc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Stefano in the 42nd minute. Alfredo Stefano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Ariel Ponc when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wincent Dropinski came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa Mitre City's Saturnino Lehior. But to his dismay, Saturnino Lehior quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The Castanheiro SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Villa Mitre City were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Feliciano Fernendo made the kick off in the second half. Ariel Ponc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 82 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's Mauricio Macías sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wincent Dropinski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Robben Spoelberchs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauricio Macías sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ariel Ponc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 91st minute of the match. Gilberto Lopes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ariel Ponc. Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Villa Mitre City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Sparkes to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Villa Mitre City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
