Cornelio Villegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nereo Argina, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute Sebastián Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosme Fernendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cecilio Feliz hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, River's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastián Villa came free, but Cosme Fernendo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes River's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Teofilo Mikeldi who took care of the corner kick. River's Cosme Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastián Villa in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cavaliers FC's Jeremias Sandalio got a free kick in the 20th minute. Teofilo Mikeldi might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cosme Fernendo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teofilo Mikeldi ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute, Sebastián Villa made a precise shot to the right of Cosme Fernendo. River's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Sebastián Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cosme Fernendo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastián Villa went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Sebastián Villa took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cosme Fernendo. Cosme Fernendo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in River's zone, Sebastián Villa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosme Fernendo came out of the goal and Sebastián Villa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastián Villa scored 0-4 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cosme Fernendo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cosme Fernendo came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Cavaliers FC's Sebastián Villa. But to his dismay, Sebastián Villa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 47 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Argina came free, but Cornelio Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erik Lund to make the kick off. Ambrosio Mitxaut charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ambrosio Mitxaut the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in River fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! If Sebastián Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th minute, Cavaliers FC's Sebastián Villa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. With a little luck, River's Cosme Fernendo got control of the ball when Sebastián Villa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's Sebastián Villa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cosme Fernendo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cavaliers FC made a substitution. Pastor Etxeberri replaced Teofilo Mikeldi. After 72 played minutes Cavaliers FC got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Feliz. After 74 minutes of play, River's Aurelio Txema made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cornelio Villegas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sebastián Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Cavaliers FC's Sebastián Villa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cosme Fernendo. Cosme Fernendo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. Cosme Fernendo was a little too slow when Pastor Etxeberri got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 1-9. If Sebastián Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cornelio Villegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaetan Slaghmeulders in the 95th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, River's goalkeeper Cosme Fernendo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastián Villa. In the 97th minute, Erik Lund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cavaliers FC made a substitution. Desiderio Rami replaced Ambrosio Iratxo. Marcos Arano scored 1-10 in the 99th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cosme Fernendo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Cavaliers FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than River throughout the match.
